I am currently finishing my last semester at San Jose State University, where i am obtaining my Bachelors of Arts in Design studies with a concentration in Graphic Design. I was first introduced to graphic design in high school. What drew me towards the graphic design world was being able to solve visual problems in a creative way that directly impacts society. Design has been a fascinating and challenging explorative process for me. It has become a part of my daily practice which as in turn matured in to one of my greatest passion.
My first experience designing as a professional outside of the classroom began when I became the secretary of the Glass Artist Guild of San Jose State University. A student run organization that strives to create a sense of community that revolves around the medium of glass. I Was elected as Secretary in the spring of 2015, where I was responsible of recording and disseminating relevant information to guild members and the campus community. While in the in the position of secretary I was afforded the task of designing the flyers and posters for all sales and events that the guild held.
At the beginning of the fall semester of 2015, I was elected president of the Glass Artist Guid. I plan and manage all of the aspects related to running the guild. Each semester as president I have seen the organization and implementation of weekly production and bi-montly sales. Since I have been president I have continued to design the flyers and posters for guild events. Additionally I have design the official logo that is now printed on all business related items and products related to the guild. Because of this I have experience in the creation of implementation of product branding. I realize that this organization is not in direct correlation to graphic design,  but I believe that I have pushed myself to gain leadership experience while taking progressive steps towards furthering my professional design abilities.
